South Africa is on the southern tip of Africa, and has a climate which varies from lows near 30F in the winter, to highs above 100F in the summer. Summer is from October to March, while winter is from April to September.

Until the 1990s, South Africa was under a policy of apartheid. This has since ended, and has brought with it a time of black majority rule.
