When most people think of San Diego, they think of beaches, but the downtown area is trying to change that. In recent years downtown San Diego has undergone a lot of growth, it still isn't the hub of the city, but it is growing none the less. There are many condos being built in the area, and more people are starting to move down there. It has had an influx of people moving in, but unfortunately it still can't compete with the other Los Angeles or San Francisco. The most well known place is called the Gaslamp District, which is the area where all the restaurants and nightclubs are. Most nights this is where everything happens. In addition to the Gaslamp, other places to see downtown are Horton Plaza, which is a shopping mall but is worth a look because of its unique architecture, and Seaport Village.
