Mount San Jacinto State Park and the San Jacinto Wilderness Area are located in Southern California, west of Palm Springs, and right near the town of Idyllwild. The state wilderness area is contained within the San Bernadino National Forest. If you are parking, you will probably need the National Forest Adventure Pass, and also you will likely want to obtain a wilderness permit for the trails you will be using. This can be obtained from the Ranger Stations.
In the park there are plenty of spectacular hiking trails, and also camping areas available. There is also wilderness camping available. Two of the more popular peaks are San Jacinto Peak and Tahquitz Peak. Note that there is no hunting in the park.
