Arizona is a state located in the southwestern United States, bordered to the west by California and the south by Mexico. The capital and largest city is Phoenix, and some other major cities are Tuscon, Mesa, Flagstaff, Scottsdale, Tempe, Yuma and Sedona.
When most people think of Arizona they probably think of hot weather and the desert. This is only partially true. It can certainly get hot, with summer temperatures reaching near 120 in some places, but the winters are mild and very pleasant, with temps in the 70s and 80s. However, there are also places in north central Arizona which are at a higher elevations and are home to coniferous forests and much cooler temperatures, and even receive snow in the winter.
If you are travelling to Arizona during the summer months, be prepared for the dry heat, and be sure to stay hydrated.
Arizona is also home to one of the most well known natural wonders of the world, the Grand Canyon, located in the northeastern part of the state.
