San Francisco is a wonderful city located on the California coast. Known as the Bay Area, the city of San Francisco is situated on a penisula northwest of San Jose and east of Oakland. There is much to do in the city, and some of the more popular things to see are the Embarcadero and Fisherman's Wharf, the Golden Gate Bridge, Haight Ashbury. Most places in the city are accessible by the public transportation system.
There is the F Line rail which serves the embarcadero area, and also down Market. There is also the history trolley, and bus serves the rest of the city.
If you are coming from the airport, you basically have three options. Shuttle bus ($12-$16 per person), cab ($45-$50), or BART which is $5.15 per person. If you get to the Civic Center stop, you can walk to most places downtown, or grab a taxi to places further.
