Tolland is a small town located about 20 miles northeast of Hartford. The town is mostly residential, with a population of about 15000. It was established in the early 1700s, and although there are new housing developments throughout the town, there are still many remaining historic homes, especially near the town center, called "Tolland Green".
If you want to go to Tolland, it is easily accessible off Interstate 84. Although it is not a tourist place, there may be a few museums and other historical attractions of interest, including the Tolland County Courthouse, the Old Jail Museum, and Tolland's oldest house, the Daniel Benton Homestead. There are a few places to stay in town, mainly small bed and breakfasts, but if you head out of town, you will find larger hotels in the Manchester area.
