Manhattan is one of the five famous burroughs of New York City. It is home to some of New York's and the world's most famous landmarks, including the Central Park, Times Square, the Empire State Building, Broadway, Wall Street, and the famous universities New York University and Columbia University. Manhattan was also home to the famous World Trade Towers.

The island of Manhattan is located in the southwest of the state of New York, and is nearly 22 miles long and a little over 2 miles wide at its widest. On the west of the island is the Hudson river, separating New York from New Jersey, on the east is the East River which separates Manhattan from the burroughs of Brooklyn and Queens, and to the north is the Harlem River, separating Uptown Manhattan from the Bronx.
