Staten Island is the least populated of the five burroughs or New York City. It is located east of New Jersey, southwest of Manhattan, and pretty much west (and a little bit south) of Brooklyn. It is also the most typically "suburban" of the five burroughs.
There are four bridges allowing access to Staten Island, two coming from New Jersey (Goethals Bridge to the north and Outer Bridge Crossing to the south), one from Brooklyn (Verrazano Narrows Bridge), and one from Manhattan (Bayonne Bridge). This is not a major airport on the island, but JFK and LaGuardia are nearby in Queens. There is also the Staten Island Ferry which runs from Manhattan.
