Goa is located on the west coast of India and bordered by the Arabian Sea. It is India's smallest state in terms of land size. It was a former colony of Portugal, having been under Portuguese rule until 1961.

Goa is a place renowned for its scenic beauty, and it's known internationally for its tropical beaches, architecture, and festivals. As an ideal traveler's destination, the people there are more hospitable and liberal minded than in the rest of India.

Adding to its natural beauty are many bays and estuaries from the rivers which flow into the Arabian Sea, which form beaches along the banks.
