Udon Thani - Facts and Visitor Information
Note: This page is similar to wiki, which means you can edit the content.
Udon Thani is a sizeaable commmercial city in the Northeast of Thailand, south of Nong Khai and the Mekong river on the Lao border.
The city is primarily a trading town rooted in agricultural produce, but developed rapidly during the Vietnam war when it was a a base for the US Air Force.
The city itself is not particularly interesting but the surrounding countryside and typical rural villages remain untouched and can be a facinating place to explore, with very welcoming locals.
Easily accessible on Nok Air, Air Asia and Thai Airways to UTH airport, or via train or coach.
