The city of Lucerne is located in central Switzerland and has a population of around 57000 people. It is the capital of the canton of Lucerne. Sitting at the foothills of the Swiss Alps and bordered by Lake Lucerne, the city offers a unique setting.

Being next to Lake Lucerne and the Reuss River, the city boasts a number of bridges, the most famous being the Chapel Bridge, a wooden bridge that is 670 feet long and was originally built in 1333. There is also water tower which combined with the bridge makes up one of the city's most well known landmarks.
