Jordan is a country in the Middle East, and is bordered on the west by Israel, the West Bank, and the Dead Sea, on the north by Syria, on the northeast by Iraq, and to the east and south by Saudi Arabia. The capital is Amman, located in the northwest. Jordan is generally considered one of the safest countries in the Middle East for travellers, but caution should still be taken as when travelling anywhere.
The government of Jordan is a constitutional monarchy, with a parliament, and also a king, King Adullah II, who remains the ultimate authority.
Most of the country is desert, and the climate is dry and hot. One of the more well known areas in Jordan is the area of Wadi Rum.
